This Cookie Policy explains how Shekho's Shawarma uses cookies and similar browser storage on our website. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which browsers use to remember information between page loads. In this policy we use "cookie" to cover all of them.

2. What we use them for

Our site uses a small number of cookies, and only for things that make the site work:

• Cart / order state — we keep the items you added to your order in your browser so they are still there when you go to checkout (shekhos-cart-v1).
• Order tracking — your most recent order reference and the last four digits of your phone number, stored in your browser for up to four hours so we can show you the live status of that order (shekhos.lastOrder).
• Staff session — if you are restaurant staff, an expiring sign-in token for the kitchen dashboard is held in session storage and cleared when the tab closes (shekhos.kitchenSession).
• Preferences — remembering small choices you make on the site (for example dismissing the cookie banner) so we do not show them again on every visit (shekhos-cookie-consent).

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell your browsing behaviour.

3. Third-party cookies

When you pay for an order, Square loads on the checkout page to securely collect your card details. Square sets its own cookies and storage for fraud prevention and to make card entry work. Square's use of those is governed by Square's own privacy notice at squareup.com/ca/en/legal/general/privacy.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's font servers and Google receives your IP address. Google Fonts does not set advertising cookies for this purpose.

Basic operational cookies may also be set by our hosting provider (Lovable Cloud / Supabase) to keep the site running.

4. Your choices

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. If you block the cookies this site uses, parts of the site may stop working — for example, your cart may not save, or you may not be able to complete checkout.

Because we do not use advertising or tracking cookies, you do not need to opt in to marketing cookies here — there are none to accept.

5. Changes

If we add new cookies or change how we use them, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
